What.
I started in this industry half way through university (though my personal interest in computers started around the age of 6) at a small web hosting company in my home town. Shortly after I helped to build Network Solutions next generation hosting platform, maintained its custom linux distribution, designed the provisioning system that allowed the Ops team to simply ‘plug and play’ new hardware into the cluster and modified our software stack that made a lot of the products we wanted to offer able to scale to our needs or to fit into our convention. Unfortunately poor management and poor foresight ended that position for all of us in the Toronto office back in 2009; However I am happy to say that that the very same platform is still running strong scaling ever wider with the very little maintenance its been given.
What do I do when I’m not at work? About a year ago I got into amateur photography and have been enjoying it quite a bit when I can find the time to get out to shoot. I’ll often try to post some of the better photos on this blog to share.
On a more geeky personal hobby level I love to code, particularly for the JVM. I’ve been personally interested in both Groovy along with some Grails for some pretty rapid web application development.
